Golf Hill Olive Oil Co. |
| Born in Italy, my grandparents retired to this ranch in 1971. I like to think they would find a lot to remind them of the Old Country if they were here today. While the varietal names of the fourteen hundred olive trees aren’t yet as familiar as the names of varietal wines, their names roll off the tongue like the finest extra virgin oils they produce - Frantoio - Leccino - Lucca - San Felice – Itrana -Mission - Pendolino – Piqual - Coratina - Taggiasca - Casaliva. They are known for growing well at high altitudes and most originate in the Tuscany region of Italy.
Just as wineries pour their finest wines for tasting, we offer tasting of our best olive oils, extra-virgin or blended. The tasting room was originally a barn or storage area underneath living quarters and a stonemason has dated the rockwork as having been built in the 1860’s. We renovated it in 2001 and welcome visitors to come taste a bit of history at Gold Hill Olive Oil Company as we pour Northern California extra virgin olive oil.

John Spenger Bistro Blends |
John Spenger started as a waiter at the famous “Scala's Bistro” in San Francisco. He served his first recipe while giving it to his tables as a very zesty bread-dipper. Shortly thereafter he left the restaurant and started bottling his creation. That one special recipe of balsamic vinegar, garlic and olive oil has since turned into a line of 10 different amazing flavors, and now his oils, vinegar’s, and vinaigrettes are some of the best around. John's top four bestsellers are his Thai Sesame Ginger Vinaigrette, his Basil Garlic Parmesan blend, his Sun-Dried Tomato Balsamic Vinegar, and his original garlic balsamic Bistro Oil.
All of John's oils begin with cold-pressed 100% extra virgin Arbequina olive oil from Lerida, Spain, and his vinegar’s and vinaigrettes begin with fantastic 18-year barrel aged Heirloom Balsamic Vinegar imported from his secret supplier - two brothers and a sister in Modena, Italy.

| Stacy’s Pita Chip Company was founded in 1997 by a social worker and a psychologist with a passion for good food and a commitment to healthy living. With a desire for a career in the food industry, but without the capital to open a restaurant, Stacy Madison and Mark Andrus began serving healthy pita bread roll-up sandwiches in Boston’s Financial District. As an incentive, the bread was baked into pita chips and served to customers waiting in line. They became an instant hit and the lines grew longer each day. It was the customers who encouraged them to get the pita chips into stores, thus Stacy's Pita Chip Company was born. |

Earthquake Wine |
Savage Syrah, the volitile Rhone,
Yielding to no one, solid as stone
Rampant destruction, so readily released,
Audacious and proud, this hostile beast.
Harboring rage, so easily displayed,
Savage Syrah and the Red Rhone Brigade.
Yearning to conquer, ready to rule,
Ravaging others, destruction the tool.
Armed for conflict, domination the key,
Havoc is spreading, Syrah's Victory.
Earth-shattering Syrah fruit trembles throughout the nose with dried cranberry and subtle hints of green tea. Bing cherry and dried plum round out the bold tannins, leaving just a hint of cedar with a warm lasting finish |
